If you followed this guide through Acts one, two and three, you should have all 25 pastwords. Now that you know all the Pastwords, it's time to return to Tinkerton. Make sure you have a magic water (You can buy one at most item shops). Also, use your Forge to make an extra supreme sage's staff. You can zoom back to the entrance. Tinkerton and the worlds of the past are all in 2D. There are a few key differences.
-All of the menus have changed configuration, especially in battle.

-In Combat, you choose your teams actions, then the round happens, with everyone taking a turn in order. The party will try to follow your orders to the best they can. For instance, if you command Jade to attack a metal slime, but the slime goes first and flees, Jade will instead attack a different enemy. This makes combat more dangerous.
-some enemies have weaker stats in 2D. Most notably, MP is capped at 999 and cannot be infinite. Sometimes attack or defense is lower, too.
-Random encounters will happen. Hero has a spell to prevent the weakest random encounters, but it doesn't last long.
-You cannot use the forge.
However, If you are following this walkthrough, you'll be level 99 with some of the strongest gear. Battles should be a cakewalk for you. Also, you can rest at the inn in Tinkerton, free of charge. If you have defeated Calasmos, you should receive an item when you enter Tinkerton. Walk right up to the altar chamber, and start with the Altar of Origins.
~Altar of Origins (Dragon Quest 1)~Galenholm (The Harp-Hearkened Horrors)~
Talk to the NPCs in the town. An old man will give you a quest. Head to the north of town, to the entrance to a dungeon. Defeat a boss here. Return to the the old man to complete the quest.
~Altar of Origins (Dragon Quest 1)~Damdara (Ghosts of a Golden Age)~
At the west end of town, talk to a bard. Head to the poisonous swamp on the East side of town. Defeat a Knight Aberrant here. Return to the Bard.
~Altar of Origins (Dragon Quest 1)~Tantegel (Curse Got Your Tongue?)~
Talk to the princess here. If you defeated Calasmos and saved your game, you should have the item to give her. Talk to her again. This will finish Altar one
~Altar of the Legendary Line (Dragon Quest 2)~ Moonahan (Curing the Curse of the Curs)~
Talk to the princess. She wants a bottle of magic water. You can buy one at most item shops in the main world. Talk to the princess again to give her the magic water.
~Altar of the Legendary Line (Dragon Quest 2)~ Cannock Castle (A Cannockian Conundrum)~
Now we are going to sequence break a little to speed things up. Talk to the King. You will now have to track the Prince of Cannock across the worlds of the Past. Leave this Altar and go to Altar of the Forgotten Past (Dragon Quest 7).
~Altar of the Forgotten Past (Dragon Quest 7)~Colorstone Mine (Rainbow Rock Ruckus)~
Talk to the man in the mine here. Dungeon crawl through the mine until you reach the bottom floor and defeat the boss. Use the Hero's Evac to recall to the start of the dungeon. Talk to the man again to complete the quest.
~Altar of the Forgotten Past (Dragon Quest 7)~Roamer Encampment (Come On, Kiefer!)~
Talk to Rom Baro to start the quest. Leave and go back to the colorstone mine directly above. There will now be some simple puzzles to solve. Pushing a rock into a rock of the same color destroys both. Changing levels resets the puzzle. Get down to the bottom floor and there will be a stairway that wasn't there before. Talk to Kiefer here and try to escape, triggering a boss fight. Evac, and return to the Roamer Encampment. Talk to Rom Baro to complete the quest and receive a Pastword. Talk to Kiefer (you may have to leave and return) about the Prince of Cannock.

Talk to Lala to start the quest. Leave.
~Altar of Reverie (Dragon Quest 6)~ Alltrades Abbey (Fogies Just Wanna Have Fun)~
Talk to the class change Minister to start this Trans-formative quest. He needs an item from the L'Academie de Notre Maitre les Medailles library. We'll get that later. Leave
~Altar of Reverie (Dragon Quest 6)~ Pillar of Pegasus (Horsing About)~
Talk to the Horse to the North to start this quest. Head up to the top, make sure to fight a Hot Dog (random encounter) along the way. Also, explore a bit, there's at least two seeds in this dungeon. Fight the two bosses back to back at the top. Evac to the bottom and talk to the horse and man again.
~Altar of the Forgotten Past (Dragon Quest 7)~Roamer Encampment (Night) (No Music, No Life)~
Return here to give Lala the item the Hot Dog dropped. This will finish Altar seven.
~Altar of Reverie (Dragon Quest 6)~Weaver's Peak (A Fishy Fashion Fan)
Talk to the woman on the left here. She wants something from the Ruby path of Doom. We'll get there eventually. Leave.
~Altar of the Chosen (Dragon Quest 4)~Imperial Pantry of Parthenia (Fiery Feverfew Seeds)
Fall through one of the holes in the ice to find the party. Talk to the girl in the front (Alena) to ask about the Prince of Cannock. Talk to the guy in the back to receive this region's quest. Navigate the Sliding tiles to reach the stairs down in the East, and defeat the Flamethrower boss. Return to the the guy in the back of the party to complete the quest.

Talk to the Slime. Leave.
~Altar of the Chosen (Dragon Quest 4)~Hidden Valley (For Eliza)~
Talk to Eliza. Give her the supreme sage's staff to complete the quest.
~Altar of the Heavenly Bride (Dragon Quest 5)~Whealbrook (Cold Comfort)~
Now things really get tricky. Talk to a man in the inn to receive this quest. Leave.
~Altar of the Starry Skies (Dragon Quest 9)~Quester's Rest (Innfinite Potential)~
Talk to Sellma (behind the counter) about Whealbrook's quest, Cold Comfort. She needs Yggdrasil Dew. Now talk to Patty, also behind the counter. She wants a book from the Gallopolis palace. Zoom to the L'Academie de Notre Maitre les Medailles and head to the library. Look for a golden sparkle between bookcases to find the book for All-Trades abbey.
Zoom to Yggdrasil, and head to the end of the first area, looking for golded and blue sparkles. This will have the Yggdrasil Dew.
Head to Gallopolis and go to the Sultan's room. There's a gold sparkle next to his bed. Pick it up.
Return to Tinkerton.

Talk to the class change Minister to give him the book and complete the quest.
Talk to Sellma and give her the Yggdrasil Dew. Leave. Return to buy the cold medicine for 2500 GP. Also, buy all four of the costumes she sells. Talk to Erinn and use the book from Gallopolis on her. Then, talk to Patty to turn in the quest.

Talk to a man in the inn and give him the cold medicine. Leave and return. Talk to Pankraz about the Prince of Cannock. We're close to finding him.
~Altar of the Heavenly Bride (Dragon Quest 5)~The Neverglade (One of Doze Days)~
Note: Veronica must be alive for this quest. Go north and east to find the Prince of Cannock. Evac to the beginning of the dungeon. Talk to the dwarf to start this quest. Go East, North, and North again to a cutscene. Follow Veronica. Make sure you fight a Silvapithecus while you are in here. Talk to the flower she points to and you'll fight the boss. Return to the dwarf to complete the quest.
~Altar of the Chosen (Dragon Quest 4)~Rose's Room (A Rosy Revelation)
Talk to the Slime and give it the item from the Silvapithecus fight to complete the quest. This should finish Altar Four.

Talk to everyone here to begin the quest. Leave.

On the Left side of the Abbey, there's a demon. Fight it. Leave.

Talk to the person who gave you the quest to turn it in. Talk to Rodrigo to perform the wedding ceremony. Choose whoever you like. Talk to Bianca to trigger another quest. This should finish Altar five, although we will be returning later.

Talk to the king here to complete the quest.

This is the worst quest of the bunch. This dungeon is extremely confusing and annoying. I recommend you google "Dragon Warrior 2 Cave to Rhone" to help you get through. Talk to the soldier to begin the quest. Get to the end of the dungeon and fight the Restless Knight. Evac to the soldier and turn in the quest. This should finish Altar two. We're over halfway done.

Talk to the King outside the castle to begin the quest. Head to the Right and loop around the castle, then through it, and outside and to the right again. Fight the boss and evac to the entrance. Talk to the king again to complete the quest.

Someone will talk to you as soon as you arrive. Accept the quest. Head to the top of the dungeon and defeat the boss. Someone will talk to you again and complete the quest. This should complete Altar Eight.

Talk to Aquila, who wants you to visit the Ruby Path of Doom. Sounds like we should get on with that. Talk to Pavo to get the Defuddle Drops. Leave.
~Altar of Salvation (Dragon Quest 3)~Erdrick's Future Home (An Endangered Engagement)~
Talk to the wife-to-be and give her the Defuddle Drops. A Boss will fight you. Defeat it and talk to the lady again to turn in the quest. This should complete Altar Three.
~Altar of the Starry Skies (Dragon Quest 9)~Ruby Path of Doom (Mad About Maps)
Talk to the Soldier here to start the quest. There are three things we are looking for here: A woman with Bodura Grass, a Dragon at the 2nd to last floor, and the Mega Metal King Slime. Talk to the woman, defeat the dragon and slime and return to the soldier to complete this quest.

Talk to Aquila to complete this quest, which should finish Altar Nine.
