Plot[edit]

Patchy goes to the Nickelodeon Animation Studio to ask SpongeBob if he'll be the guest of honor on his tenth anniversary special, as well as ask him to call some of his friends to guest star in the special as well, but he's not there and he's seated in a room. Meanwhile, SpongeBob wakes up and gets ready to go to the Krusty Krab during its eleventy-seventh anniversary, and reminisces about his first visit to the restaurant when he was still in his mother's tummy.

Patchy calls celebrities to ask them if they can be in his show on his own, but he fails to recruit any of the celebrities he calls. Meanwhile, SpongeBob enters the Krusty Krab after passing through a large crowd of citizens. Mr. Krabs puts the restaurant in lockdown mode and tells his employees to watch all the entrances in case Plankton tries to steal the formula, including the ones underground. He also hires Patrick as security against Plankton.

Plankton is annoyed because he has tried to steal the formula 1,003 times, but has failed all those times. Karen shows him a clip-show of all the times Mr. Krabs has launched him, and then tells him today is the perfect day to steal the formula as Mr. Krabs will be distracted by all the festivities.

Mr. Krabs has SpongeBob handle the decorations, and after they look back on the previous times SpongeBob modified the Krusty Krab, he decorates the entire restaurant. SpongeBob goes into the freezer to get the last decoration, with is the Krabby Patty sculpted in ice. He gets help from Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs, but while pulling it, SpongeBob bounces out and into the freezer and accidentally locks them all inside.

Mr. Krabs gets the idea to use the air ducts to get out, so they go up in there and, using SpongeBob's map, try to find their way out. At one point, Mr. Krabs finds a Krabby Patty wrapper, making him remember to the good old days of the Krusty Krab. As they are going through the air ducts, Mr. Krabs thinks they found the exit, but it turns out to just be his security room with cameras inside. When they come out, they encounter two paths, so Mr. Krabs goes in one while the others go in the second one.

After recruiting several celebrities, Patchy finally hosts his show. However, when he asks SpongeBob to come, he doesn't appear. He gets mad and sets out to find him, so he rides his boat to Bikini Atoll. At the same time, P!nk and her band practice their performance while they and the other celebrities wait for Patchy to come back.

Plankton falls into the air ducts through an outside air vent, and ends up falling to where SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward are. SpongeBob realizes he's trying to steal the formula again, and then remembers the time Mr. Krabs told him what the secret recipe was. However, when he's about to tell him, Plankton tries to write down what he says, only for the Mr. Krabs in SpongeBob's thoughts to stop him.

Mr. Krabs joins back in the group while Squidward says they wouldn't have gotten into this mess if SpongeBob hadn't come to Bikini Bottom, and then remembers the time when SpongeBob wasn't in town. Afterwards, SpongeBob remembers the time he had bought his house. The group uses a walkie talkie to call Sandy, but she gets mad that they stole her the walkie talkie they were using. Patrick thinks Sandy is trapped in the walkie talkie and destroys it.

SpongeBob reminisces of the time he and Sandy got married, but it turns out it was just a play that ended up being a failure. At the same time, Patchy and his boat get eaten by a whale as he's going to Bikini Atoll. While inside the whale, Patchy talks about the history of SpongeBob and how he was picked out of a number of candidates, including Squidward, Patrick, and Mr. Krabs, as well as an old clip of SpongeBob.

The whale sneezes and Patchy is shot into the air through its blowhole and lands in Fancy Studios. He faints and thinks he is at SpongeBob's house, but faints when he greets him. He wakes up to see the celebrities surrounding him in the green room, and when he feels he'll never get to see SpongeBob, The Guy on the Penny lifts his hat and shows him a plush toy of SpongeBob.

SpongeBob gets the idea to use their heads as battering rams to get out of the air ducts back into the Krusty Krab. He puts ventilation on the others and uses them to break through. However, by this time, everyone has left. SpongeBob gets everyone to come back by singing a song about the Krusty Krab, while Mr. Krabs foils another one of Plankton's plans to steal the formula.
